30th Anniversary trip to Kauai

Randy and I spent nine wonderful days on the island of Kauai to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We spent four nights at the Sheratan in Poipu on the south shore. We had some excellent meals had fun on the boogie boards and snorkeling. One of the highlights was Waimea canyon and our hike there. It was a tough hike but the views along the way and waterfall at the end made it all worth it. We also went on a river boat up the Wailua River to fern grotto and listened to them sing the Hawaiian Wedding song. The evening culminated with a scrumptious luau and wonderful show. The next day we moved up to the north side of the Island and stayed at the Westin in Princeville. More wonderful meals (and shave ice) awaited us there. We took an amazing helecopter ride on our anniversary and saw Waimea canyon, the amazing NaPali coast and countless waterfalls. Another highlight was the beautiful Kalalau hike along the Napali coast - amazing views the whole way. This was another tough hike but definately well worth it. We had such a wonderful time, and can't wait to go back with the kids.
